Cracked Heels can be pretty unsightly, not to mention very painful in most cases (You walk on them, after all!). Many people tend to neglect to moisturize and exfoliate the bottom of the feet when taking a shower or a bath. It is important to treat them before they get worse. Try these home remedies to alleviate the pain and heal the cracked heels.
1. Soak Your Feet
Soak your feet in warm-to-hot water to soften the dead skin and relax. Use a big basin or we love taking the time to take a full bath.
After the feet are soaked in water, it will now be easier to exfoliate. Try any body scrubs or whip up a quick sugar scrub batch. If you don't have anything on hand, you can also simply take your loofah and scrub. If in any case this is too painful for you, be very gentle or skip to the next step.
Most cracked feet are caused by dryness. Coconut oil can work wonderfully on most feet ailments as it is antimicrobial. If you have Athlete’s Foot, other nourishing oils/lotions that are otherwise great for other parts of your body may cause you more trouble as the fungus feed on the oils.
Before bedtime, apply coconut oil liberally and slip on a pair of clean socks to let it soak in overnight.
Repeat each night until your feet become baby soft! 👶🏻
